Reflecting on senior year!
As I'm typing this, I can't believe that we're almost halfway through the semester, especially since I'm a senior. Before this school year started, I really began to understand what people meant when they said that college flies by. I feel like it was just yesterday that my parents were helping me move into my freshmen year dorm and I was going to my first class at USC! Even though I wish COVID hadn't made all of sophomore year online, I can still say that my college experience at USC has been amazing. I have definitely met lifelong friends, explored a lot of Los Angeles, and learned a lot personally and academically throughout my time here.
Coming into senior year, I made a big bucket list of things I wanted to do before graduating to make my experience even more amazing. I really enjoy being in nature, so I wanted to explore more of the national parks in California, like Yosemite, Yellowstone and Sequoia. Some of my friends have been skydiving before too and said that doing it in San Diego is a must before leaving. I also wanted to spend more time exploring the USC campus - as a business major, I feel like I know nothing about the Viterbi side and what the buildings there even have. Lastly, I wanted to try out more restaurants around L.A. that I haven't been to yet.
Looking back on the list, I realized that I haven't done most of the things on it but am still enjoying college while I can. The last-minute plans I've made with my friends, like grabbing a quick ice cream, have turned into the most memorable nights and I know that I'm definitely going to miss living right next to everything I need and not having any work responsibilities. It definitely scares me that after I graduate, I will probably never have as much free time as I do now. So for now, I am still going to try to accomplish everything on my bucket list while making the most out of my last days at USC!
great post, Lisa! your post made me think about my own past and future at USC too. I'm still a junior, and it made me really want to enjoy the rest of my time at SC! If you like vietnamese/ thai food, check out this restaurant called Little Sister in DTLA! their food is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHey Lisa, I enjoyed your post. I definitely understand the feeling of being a senior and having those impending work responsibilities. It’s definitely a scary feeling. Also, as someone who has been to Yosemite, I couldn’t recommend it more! Such an amazing time. The views are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! Unfortunately I am also a senior so find myself also reminiscing on my college memories right now. COVID was definitely tough but at least it made us value our friends, classes and in-person experiences more coming back from quarantine!
